A number of years ago I co-authored an article on the incredible difficulty that becomes part of delivering a "heartbeat" application such as "CRM" (now referred to as CE or Customer Engagement). The article used historical reference to numerous attempts and failures at getting it just right. In today's world we are much more than a single heartbeat and in projects the entire body must be considered.
There are three main drivers for success or big risk areas for failure when it comes to these projects.
- The People involved from the wider project team to executive management sponsorship and vision.
- The Technologies used, offering the right fit and the stretchable elasticity for growth
- The Business Processes empowered, business processes that are automated are only as good as the defined manual processes that are first defined.
Each project comes to the table with a different set of variables, and some are the same, some are similar, and some are completely different.
Are you considering all of the variables as you build your roadmaps to success?
